Chenal Urgent Care

Chenal Urgent Care originally opened in 2013 as Velocity Urgent Care by an out of state corporation in the same location until May, 2018, when Dr. Gregory S. McKinney bought the clinic and changed the name to Chenal Urgent Care.

Dr. McKinney and staff look forward to meeting you and tending to all of your medical needs. We are conveniently located in West Little Rock adjacent to the Purple Cow restaurant.

Our current post/covid hours are 9-6 Monday-Friday and 9-4 Saturday and Sunday.

Meet Our Medical Providers

Dr. Greg McKinney, M.D.

Born in Helena, Arkansas, raised in Hot Springs, Arkansas, Dr. McKinney graduated from Lake Hamilton High School in Hot Springs. He then went on to attend UofA and UALR, and graduated from UAMS College of Medicine in 1994 and remained at UAMS to complete his residency program in family practice.

After graduation he spent the next 11 years on active duty with the Arkansas Army National Guard as the Commander at the Troop Medical Clinic at Camp Joseph T. Robinson. After leaving active duty he became the Medical Director for the demilitarization clinic at the Pine Bluff Arsenal for 3 years, he then spent the next 12 years working in correctional medicine at the Arkansas Department of Corrections.

After working several years at the Wrightsville unit, he moved on to become the Medical Director at the new Arkansas Department of Corrections hospital in Malvern [Ouachita River Unit]. He then spent a 2 year stent with the Veterans Administration Medical Center. During this time he purchased Velocity Urgent Care Clinic in 2018 and changed the name to Chenal Urgent Care and with the Covid pandemic chose to come to work full time at the Clinic in 2020.

Dr. McKinney recently retired from the Arkansas Army National Guard in July 2020 as a full Colonel after 38 years of service during which time he served 3 tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Dr. McKinney has a passion for boxing and MMA and as a certified ring side physician has been working both amateur and professional boxing and MMA events for the past 25 years. He is currently serving on the Medical Advisory Board for the Amateur Boxing Commission and previously served on the Arkansas Athletic Commission under the appointment of Governor Mike Bebee.
Nichole perry

Nichole Perry, CRNP

Nichole Perry was born in Wichita, Kansas. She went to several community colleges and graduated with her Associates of Nursing degree in 2007 from Butler Community College. She later graduated from Wichita State University in 2008 with her undergraduate degree. She worked as a nurse in the Intensive Care Units, Operating Room and Recovery, Obstetrics, Medical/Surgical unit, and specialized in Intravenous Therapy. She decided to go back to school and attended Fort Hays State University and graduated in 2014 as a board-certified Nurse Practitioner. She then worked in Dermatology, Urgent Care and the Emergency Department. Nichole has a beautiful new fur baby, Brutus, and they love to go hiking.
